Get Glowing Smooth Skin

Ninety percent of women have cellulite. (The dimpled effect usually creeps up between the ages of 25 and 35, when the collagen fibers that bind fat to the skin start to stretch and tear, allowing fat cells to bulge out.)

There are ways to help reduce the appearance of the skin and this must be done regularly.

Using a scrub in the shower or bath is one of the easiest ways to achieve smoother skin. Not only will it help in the fight against cellulite, but it will also help with the overall look of the skin making it softer and less pimply.

Sloughing away dead skin and increasing the circulation are one of the best ways to improve the appearance and you should aim to do this 2-3 times a week.

Work on the legs, thighs, bum, tummy and arms. You can also gently scrub the face once a week using a suitable scrub designed for the delicate face area.

Always finish off with moisturising. My preferred option is baby oil on damp skin and pat dry with a soft towel.

Working on what goes into your body is a must for healthier, firming looking skin and in my next post I will be sharing some advice on where to start.

Can Lemon Water Really Help You Lose Weight?

Celebs such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Real Housewives of New Jerseystar Dina Manzo guzzle hot water with lemon as if the liquid was bottled at the Fountain of Youth itself. They're certain it aids in weight loss—but is the claim too good to be true?

"Hot water with lemon in and of itself does not cause any actual weight loss," says Alissa Rumsey, R.D., a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. However, if this drink is replacing a beverage that is higher in calories, like coffee with sugar or fruit juice—and that results in a calorie deficit—then it can help you lose weight.

Drinking water—whether hot or cold, infused with lemon, or plain—also helps keep your metabolism humming. "Staying hydrated is an important component of a healthy diet because it boosts your metabolism," says Rumsey. "For those that don't enjoy plain water, adding some lemon is a great way to boost the flavor without adding calories."

In the short term, drinking water with lemon can also reduce bloating—it acts as a mild, natural diuretic, says Rumsey. However, if you're experiencing bloating in the long-term, it's best to figure out what is causing it and work to stop those habits: Eating too fast, drinking through a straw, drinking carbonated beverages, consuming too much salt, and consuming foods with sugar alcohols are common culprits.

You also don't want to chug water with lemon religiously if you experience heartburn or acid reflux, as the citrus in the lemon will only exacerbate your symptoms, says Rumsey. Now you know!

Quick and Easy Body Scrub

Caffeine has been used in skin products for years.

Caffeine's anti-inflammatory and vasoconstriction effects are also a reason why it's used as a popular ingredient in anti-cellulite creams.

If you want a quick and simple body scrub that will exfoliate, reduce cellulite and improve the appearance of the skin then use coffee grains. Yes that's correct coffee grains.

Do this in the shower and have a good gentle scrub all over. Rinse off and apply baby oil to damp skin then gently pat dry with a soft towel.

Your skin will feel soft and silky and all for the cost of a few coffee granules. Brilliant!

Are YOUR Weight Worries Holding You Back In Bed?

Tracey Cox reveals the three fears that are ruining women's sex lives (and why they shouldn't)

  • Sexpert Tracey Cox says women worry so much they can't enjoy sex
  • She says bad body image is ruining the experience for many women
  • But the sexpert reveals why there is really nothing to worry about

Sex is meant to be one of life's greatest pleasures.

So why do lots of women spend the whole time worrying rather than enjoying themselves?

Here are the top three things most women stress about in bed - and shouldn't.

YOUR BODY

Most women are paranoid about their bodies and it's not just our self-esteem which takes a miserable dive every time we succumb to obsessing about our muffin tops.
A bad body image has a direct effect on our ability to enjoy sex.
Numerous studies have shown body self-conscious women are more timid, less likely to initiate sex, try new positions or talk about their needs than women who are happy with their bodies.

But the reality is most men don't look at your bottom and think 'Dear God! Look at those Godawful lumps!', they think 'Let me get my hands on that!'.

Research continually shows that men in love are almost universally positive about their partner's body.

You see fat, he sees curves.

Sex is about what's happening on the inside not the outside. It's about feeling sensations, feeling connected and loved - and having orgasms.
Lying there stressing about how you look and feeling paranoid means none of the above is going to happen.

NOT HAVING AN ORGASM EVERY SINGLE TIME

Reputable US research suggests 75 per cent of men always reach orgasm during sex while only 29 per cent of women do.
If that wasn't depressing enough, another comprehensive study (Elisabeth Lloyd, US) analysed more than 30 years of studies of female orgasm to conclude they're 'a happy accident' rather than a regular event that's guaranteed to happen.
Yet women still feel under incredible pressure to pretend they climax almost every time and are plagued with guilt and feeling 'not good enough/sexy enough' when it doesn't.
Men's orgasms are reliable and automatic; our are sporadic and dependent on a multitude of factors.

The mood we're in (fat/thin/bad hair/good hair/am I feeling desirable day), what's happening in our lives and relationships (he's being a b*****d again), the amount and type of foreplay and the amount we've drunk and eaten: all these factors affect whether or not we climax.
But - and it's a big one - more often than not, the main reason we don't orgasm is down to not enough foreplay, the wrong type, an ineffective foreplay technique or a terrible combination of all three.
Women have no need to be embarrassed if an orgasm doesn't happen - but if our partners are guilty of any of the above, perhaps they should be!

NOT WANTING SEX AS MUCH AS HE DOES

'They're all over you in the beginning but stop wanting it at all once you've been together for a while.'
How many times have we heard this one? (How many times will it be written in the comments section by men?)
The claim: women only seem to like sex at the beginning. Once the relationship is serious, we lose interest.
Some men think it means we're just not interested in sex at all. We fake it in the beginning until we've 'got him', then drop the act.

But there's a far less sinister, more plausible reason, according to research findings.
Men are more likely to feel 'spontaneous desire': they'll feel like sex before they start having it.

Women are more likely to feel 'reactive' desire: we might not feel like sex at the beginning but get aroused and enjoy sex once we start having it.
(Though, again, this will only happen if our partner's sexual technique is effective and enjoyable.)

Both sexes feel more spontaneous desire at the start of a relationship because that's when love and sex hormones flood our brains, as Mother Nature tries desperately to get us to have lots of sex to conceive.
Between nine and 18 months later, those hormones (necessarily) dry up and we fall back to our natural libido resting state.
This is when mismatched sex drives become apparent.
It's not women pretending to like sex to hook their men that causes a drop in desire.
It's to do with the different types of desire each gender experiences becoming more noticeable with time.

What also becomes apparent the longer you're together is that it's rare that both of you will feel like sex at the same time anyway.
If we were all a lot less hung up on sex having to be 'spontaneous', most people's sex lives would be in a much better state.
Put in the same 'spontaneous' planning you did at the start - plan nice things to do together, make sure you both look great, think up new things to try together in bed - and you might just find there's more than a flash of 'just-met-sex' in the next session.

A lower libido than your partner is also a common worry but Tracey says this is perfectly normal

The Dreaded Cellulite and Holidays

Yes it's getting to that time of year when I must dig out my bikini and make sure it still fits before baring myself beside the pool.

One of my worries each year, is how much cellulite I have gained over the winter months (aswell as pounds!).

Well this year I have been preparing in advance. I have been walking more (and at a faster pace), to help tone up my legs. Imagine the shock I got when I looked in the mirror and saw that my arms had now been 'blessed' with the dimply stuff, gggrrrr.

So here I am once more with time not on my side. I body brush and vigorously massage a quick 'miracle' cream into my dimpled bits on a daily (well almost) basis. There has been some improvement albeit slow and not quite the results I was hoping for, but on the plus side, it hasn't got any worse.

I needed something a bit quicker and with more guaranteed results that wouldn't cost the earth. After much research, I think I may just have found the answer.

Have a look and tell me what you think.......Click Here

A quick tip you can do whilst laying on the beach, is to gently massage your legs and arms with the grains of sand. This will help to get rid of any dead skin and gently give you a free exfoliation. Be careful not to scrub too hard though and especially not if you have over done the sun bathing. Doing this just once or twice over a week will be enough. It can help prolong your tan by getting rid of dead skin that would shed and take your newly aquired tan with it. Once you have had a gentle scrub, wash off in the sea and blather on plenty of suncream, not forgetting to moisturise all over later on after showering.

Brush Away Cellulite

Cellulite is often a difficult thing to shift but with a healthy diet and daily body brushing, the appearance can be improved quickly. Here's how to body brush:

Choose a large natural bristle brush (most large chemists and health stores sell them).

You need to do this every day before taking a bath or shower.

With a dry brush, begin from the feet and use long upward strokes working towards the heart. Gently work up the legs and around the bottom area. Use circular movements on the bottom and abdomen, followed by upward strokes (always working towards the heart).

Work over the hands and up the arms and across the shoulders until all areas have been covered.

Avoid varicose veins and moles.

Once finished, take a nice warm bath or shower and finish off by applying baby oil to damp skin. This will lock in moisture to leave the skin soft. Dry off with a soft towel by gently blotting the skin until dry. Be careful of getting any residue oil onto bedding or clothing.

Alternatively dry off with a towel and apply a good moisturiser all over.

Done daily you can expect to see a difference in the skin in a few weeks. The appearance should be less bumpy and the skin will feel softer to touch.

Combine this with a good diet and plenty of water to flush out toxins.

Choose a natural brush so that it doesn't scratch the skin.

This is the one I use and is great value for money
